Bluware, Wipro, and Resolve Geosciences Form Alliance for Mass Ingestion of SEG-Y Data to the Cloud

HOUSTON, TX – March 8, 2021 – Bluware Corp., the digital platform that enables the energy industry to accelerate digital transformation initiatives and adopt cloud computing for subsurface data, is collaborating with Wipro Limited, (NYSE: WIT, BSE: 507685, NSE: WIPRO) a leading global information technology, consulting, and business process services company, to enable mass ingestion of SEG-Y data from tapes and data centers to Bluware OpenVDS™ on the cloud on the OSDU™ Data Platform. Joining the alliance is Resolve Geosciences, Inc., a company that equips seismic data managers with powerful tools to define, analyze, and quality control seismic data quickly and effectively.

These companies are providing an ingestion pipeline for oil and gas companies to extract seismic data from archive, store it on the cloud, and exploit it for immediate value. This new end-to-end solution ingests, inspects, and converts data to OpenVDS on to cloud storage or an OSDU repository. Geoscience teams can derive immediate value through automatic integration with existing applications, while data managers and scientists can easily incorporate the data into their respective environments using APIs.

Bluware contributes OpenVDS to the OSDU Data Platform, an open-source storage format for seismic data that eliminates the requirement to copy and convert data to different formats and only serves the required signal quality to specific workflows, yielding extremely fast access. Bluware also offers OpenVDS+™, a free-to-use library that adds Bluware’s industry-leading wavelet compression technology to OpenVDS.

Wipro is a Microsoft Azure implementation and development partner for the OSDU Data Platform. The company’s deep domain expertise in the energy value chain across upstream, midstream, and downstream oil and gas, backed by strong capabilities in new and emerging technologies, helps enable upstream businesses to accelerate their digital transformation goals. Wipro is enabling and integrating technologies, such as those developed by Bluware and Resolve Geosciences, to help operators migrate their data into the OSDU Data Platform and integrate it into their day-to-day production workflows.

Resolve Geosciences verifies that data undergoes required quality control before being uploaded for users.

“We ensure that data quality is maintained right from the beginning, thereby eliminating issues for all users including data managers, IT administrators, and geoscientists,” commented Don Robinson, President at Resolve Geosciences.

Paul De Jager, OSDU Practice Head at Wipro Limited remarked, “Wipro is committed to building an ecosystem of technology partners and industry solutions to enable operators to accelerate their digital transformation with cloud-native end-to-end workflows built on the OSDU Data Platform principles and architecture. The strategic partnership with Bluware and Resolve Geosciences brings advanced seismic ingestion, quality control, storage, and distribution components to our customers.”

Bluware, Wipro, and Resolve Geosciences are all Members of the OSDU Forum committed to enabling a path for companies to easily embrace and customize seismic data solutions on the cloud.

“This collaboration is equipping the industry with a solution that tackles the data issues that have stifled innovation in geophysics computing, resulting in an opportunity to finally standardize on a seismic format that not only stores data, but delivers usable data to applications via APIs. With an open-source format and industry proven compression available for free, this is a significant step forward for the energy sector,” stated Dan Piette, CEO at Bluware.
